Our number one goal is to help our clients and dogs live their best lives together. No matter their age, breed, or size -- from chihuahuas to Great Danes. Living with an out-of-control dog isn’t fun for anyone. Getting pulled around by your dog on leash, zero recall, reactivity, the list goes on. But we’re here to help!
Here at Upland Pine K9 we recognize every dog and owner is different, so we tailor your dog’s training to get the best results! We use a variety of training tools and methods including (but not limited to) positive reinforcement, play, slip leads, prong collars, and remote collars.
We believe no dog is “bad”, they just don’t know what’s expected. UPK9 Training will help you not just set expectations, but also teach you how how to build you and your dog’s confidence and relationship. Meet Your Trainer!
​
Joy discovered her passion for animal training early, starting with horses as a teenager. Her deep understanding of animal behavior naturally led her to dog training, and since 2022 she has been helping owners build better relationships with their dogs professionally.
She founded Upland Pine K9 with a single purpose: to empower owners through education. Joy believes that life with your dog doesn’t have to be difficult — it’s simply about learning how to help them fit seamlessly into your everyday routine. By blending knowledge, patience, and clear communication, she guides both dogs and their humans toward a more balanced, enjoyable partnership.

Joy has 3 dogs: Dax, Clyde, and Pretzel. In her free time she likes to go out with her dogs, foster dogs, and collect houseplants!

Services & Programs
Private Lessons
Over the course of 4 or 8 lessons, we will work one-on-one to teach your dog basic obedience and stop unwanted behaviors.

Private lessons are perfect for those who have the time and want to be as involved as possible in their dog's training.
Day Training
If you can't bear the thought of sending your dog away for training but you want to move faster than private lessons, this is the program for you!

We'll take your dog for 2 days for 2 weeks to teach the basics, then we'll follow up with 3 private lessons to solidify training and get your dog off leash!
Board & Trains
Let us do the heavy lifting! Send your dog to us for 3, 4, or 6 weeks for the ultimate reset!

During their stay, dogs learn essential obedience skills, proper greeting manners, and polite behavior in everyday situations. We focus on building calm, reliable responses both at home and in public.
